ARTICLE 1 - NAME AND NATURE
The name of the club shall be WILD WEST MINIATURE HORSE CLUB. The club shall be a nonprofit organization: there share
be no shares of stock or dividends pain and individual members shall not be responsible for any debt incurred by the club.
ARTICLE 2 - PURPOSE
The Wild West Miniature Horse Club is dedicated to promoting the American Miniature Horse as a distinctive breed known
not only for its diminutive size, but also for its versatility and broad appeal. Toward this goal, the Wild West Miniature
Horse Club sponsors a wide variety of community-based events that target equine enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
ARTICLE 3 - MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to all who agree to the purpose (mission statement), agree to abide by the club by-laws, complete a
membership application and pay dues. Members in good standing will have equal rights and responsibilities with respect to
the club. Each shall obey and be bound by the by-laws; shall have the right to attend meetings and club activities; have floor
privileges; hold office or committee assignments; vote in club elections: vote on changes to the by-laws and other matters
presented to the membership. A copy of the by-laws will be provided to all members.
ARTICLE 4 - DUES
1. Membership year shall be January 1 through December 31.
2. Dues shall be Individual $15; Family $25; Non-Family Youth and 4-H (under age 18) $5
3. New members shall be pro-rated at $10 after August 15.
4. Individual members are illegible for one vote and Family memberships are illegible for two votes (limited to members
18 or older).
ARTICLE 5 - SPORTSMANSHIP
Members agree to conduct themselves in a respectful manner toward others at club meetings and functions and display and
promote good sportsmanship at all times. Cruelty, abuse or mistreatment of any animal will not be tolerated by this club.
If noted within the show ring, stables or confines of an event it will be reported to the ring steward, show manager, or event
coordinator. Membership in the WWMHC may be terminated for failure to abide by the by-laws or for any other conduct contrary
to the best interests of the club as determined by the membership. The decision to terminate membership will be made by a
majority vote of the membership. The reasons for termination will be given to the member in writing and an opportunity given
for explanation.
ARTICLE 6 - MEETINGS
Meeting dates, times, and locations will be set by the club officers with consideration given to the needs of all club
members. Meetings will be announced in the newsletter and/or by mail, email, or phone. Special meetings and committee meetings
will be held as needed.
ARTICLE 7 - OFFICERS
The officers of the club shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Officers shall be elected by a
majority of club members in good standing and serve a two-year term. If an officer cannot fulfill his/her term, there shall
be an election to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term.
1. President: The President shall preside over meetings, appoint committees, enforce by-laws and perform other duties
incidental to this office.
2. Vice President: The Vice President shall assist the President and in the absence of or at the request of the President,
assume the duties of the President.
3. Secretary: The Secretary will record minutes of the meetings and report them to the membership, maintain club records
including membership, by-laws and all other correspondence/material, and prepare meeting notices and other written information
as requested by the President.
4. Treasurer: The Treasurer will collect dues and other club funds, maintain the club's checking account and financial
records, pays bills, and performs other duties incidental to the position.
ARTICLE 8 - NEWSLETTER
The official club publication is the WILD WEST MINIATURE HORSE CLUB NEWS. Copies will be mailed to all club members in
good standing and, in the interest of promoting the mission statement, other interested parties. Newsletter Editor shall be
a volunteer position appointed by the club President.
ARTICLE 9 - AMENDMENTS
These by-laws may be amended periodically by a majority vote of club members in good standing.
